How do I get residency in Spain?
British and Non-EU nationals/residents
If you can prove that your were living legally in Spain before 31st December 2020, then you have the possibility of applying for residency in Spain under the withdrawal agreement rules until March 31st 2021. Types of proof that are accepted are showing you were on the padrón last year and showing rental contracts and bills etc.
If this is not the case, then it will be necessary to apply for a residency visa. Please see this complete article to see the various residency visa options.
It will be necessary to book an appointment at your local ‘extranjería’ office and register as an EU resident by matching the criteria for that office. You typically have to prove that you have a job or an income and that you have access to healthcare in Spain. Please contact us HERE and we can help you with this process.
